My 8th Cannes Film Festival was a blast. Met up with some great friends - now old friends I guess - saw a slate of phenomenal movies, interviewed some interesting artists and wrote a lot. This post is just a way of putting it all in one place.
![]() Here is my final wrap post for Cine-Vue. There are links throughout this post. So my favourite films of the festival were the winner Parasite which I reviewed along with nine other movies for Cine-Vue: The Lighthouse The Climb Little Joe Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Frankie Portrait of a Lady on Fire Sibyl Sorry We Missed You Dead Don't Die I wrote five pieces for Sight and Sound: The Unknown Saint The Orphanage Red 11 The Traitor Mektoub, My Love: Intermezzo I also contributed to a prediction piece which for the second year running I guessed right. I also wrote two reviews for HotCorn:Rocketman andOnce Upon a Time in Hollywood (because it's that good). I wrote about Terence Malick's latest A Hidden Life for Filmuforia. As well as the wonderfulDeerskin. Multimedia section I appeared on Turkish TV talking about the festival prior to the opening and chatter with critic and pal Paolo Portugal. And was a guest on the official Cannes Festival radio, presented by Jason Solomons. All of which are available below. This is my Letterboxd list of films watched.

This event called is called the eight Cannes Film Festival. People will learn a lot about the world of movies and how the directors, actors, writers and other personnel are doing their job just to have a beautiful product that will be a great eye catcher to the market. There are different kinds of elements that are needed for a film to be a hit. The effects should be beautiful and realistic and with the efforts like these I know that there will be a good product.

I always start my sentences with "If there's anything I want most in my life right now.." but today I just got tired of saying it. I am not really being negative again. I just learned to accept that maybe nothing great can ever come out from people whom we are already very quick to label as imbeciles because everything about them points at that direction. I hate that I don't see the need to appreciate every effort done but maybe all of it lack sincerity and this is the reason it's not so hard to see that it is pointless.

The portrait of my pet is a true work of art. The artist captured his spirit so perfectly, and the colors and details are just stunning. It’s a beautiful addition to my home.

Avec sa fragrance subtile de fleur d'oranger, cette bougie crée une ambiance agréable et raffinée. Un parfum doux qui n'envahit pas l'espace, mais qui l'enrichit délicatement.
