This is the first draft of a novel which I have decided to publish on the blog chapter by chapter as a work in progress. Any comments, suggestions, etc will be much appreciated. It will only be up temporarily. Chapter Four Bracken Hill Farm was bought by my mother and father in 1965. She was a psychiatrist and he was a historian who late in life found fame writing popular history books about the ancient world, which culminated in a television series in 1983 which was broadcast on the BBC and is still noted today as a late reassertion of the Reithian principles of the corporation.
